Akazhanov will be based in New York and partner on strategy with Sami Ahmad, GP and deputy chief investment officer.

Previously, he was a managing director at H I G Capital, where he focused on technology and tech-enabled services. Prior to this Akazhanov was an MD at Blackstone and also worked at Bain Capital and McKinsey & Company. 

With more than $7 billion in assets under management across multiple funds, the firm specializes on seed to late-stage venture growth investments, primarily in the technology, healthcare and climate sectors, and was founded in 2015. It has offices in the US and Asia.
